Moran Cerf is a neuroscientist and professor of business. He is the director of the lab for advanced technology and human performance at Columbia University and an academic director in executive education. Additionally, he is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AFI). 

Prof. Cerf holds a PhD in neuroscience (Caltech), an MA in Philosophy of Science, and a BSc in Physics (Tel-Aviv University). 

In his research, Prof. Cerf studies patients undergoing brain surgery with neural implants embedded deep inside their heads to address questions concerning consciousness, dreams, behavior change, and decision-making. His work has paved the way for several key neuroscience disciplines, including advanced brain-machine interfaces, and is at the heart of numerous commercial applications (i.e., Neuralink, Paradromic). 

He is the founder of Return on AI (http://r-o.ai), a professional services organization specializing in the interface of neuroscience and AI. 

Recently, he has been involved in implementing key lessons from his studies to help leaders improve critical decision-making protocols (i.e., helping devise the new US nuclear launch protocol). 

Previously, he spent a decade working in cybersecurity, as a hacker, and served as a board member of several public companies. 

Cerf published papers in academic journals (i.e., Nature, Science) and popular science ones (Scientific American, Wired, New Scientist, …). He is a contributor to numerous media outlets (Forbes, Atlantic, BBC, Bloomberg, Time, NYT, New Yorker, …), and his work has been portrayed in venues like CNN, Fox, or Netflix Explained and featured in TV shows such as Bull, Limitless, House, Mr. Robot, and more. His work was recently turned into an Off-Broadway show (“Sans Me”). 

He has published several books, including the recent graphic novel “Brain Imaging: An Illustrated Guide to the Future of Neuroscience” and “Return on AI”, and has made much of his research accessible through public talks at TED, TEDx, DLD, the World Economic Forum, and others – garnering millions of views and a large following. 

Prof. Cerf is a four-time US national storytelling champion (The Moth), a recipient of several awards and grants (including the President’s Excellence, The Sage, and the Templeton Extraordinary Minds awards) and was named one of the “40 leading professors under 40.”

Sherry Li is a Product Manager at Sublime Security, where she helps drive the roadmap for a next-generation email security platform. Previously, she was the first Product Manager at Halcyon, establishing the product management practice at the anti-ransomware startup. Before that, she served as a Principal Product Manager at Dell, where she launched the Dell Managed Detection and Response service in partnership with CrowdStrike. 

She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from The George Washington University and has built her career developing and scaling security products to combat evolving cyber threats.

Sepideh Rowland is a Partner at Klaros Group. She is a senior compliance executive with deep regulatory and operational knowledge having held leadership positions as chief compliance or BSA/AML and sanctions officer, at several of the financial community’s most respected institutions, community banks, and money services businesses. She also played an active role in lobbying and advocating for financial institutions as senior counsel with the American Bankers Association. Sepideh was the recipient of the 2023 American Bankers Association’s Distinguished Service Award for Financial Crimes in recognition of her career and contributions to the banking industry.

Mr. Nawrath is a cybersecurity executive with over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance.  A former member of prestigious councils such as the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council and the Directors and Chief Risk Officers’ Group on the Cyber Risk Governance Council, advising leaders and boards on cyber risk.

Dr. Lan Ma Nygren is the Associate Dean and a tenured professor in Management Sciences at Rider University’s Norm Brodsky College of Business. Kylie Meyer, PhD, MSc, is a Gerontologist and tenure track Assistant Professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University and serves as Co-Director of the University Center on Aging and Health. Her aging research career began as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Southampton, followed by doctoral training in Gerontology at the University of Southern California. Kristin brings more than 16 years of senior leadership experience making her a SME on diversity growth and development. As the Director of Field Projects for a Fortune 200 company, she was responsible for establishing and executing the organization’s diversity objectives, initiatives, and strategies, as well as focusing on the company’s optimization & localization initiatives.

Most recently Kristin served as the Chief Operating Officer for a National Non for Profit organization, where she created and led the vision and strategy for the organization in partnership with the National Board of Directors and other senior leaders. Before joining NJIT in 1992, Dr. Spak was Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Education at New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury, New York, and, during America’s first energy crisis, served as the Director of the Center for Energy Policy and Research and authored “how to” reports which were sent to every American Governor.  

She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Political Psychology and Master of Arts from Yale University, and her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Political Science from Brooklyn College of City University of New York.

Prior to this role, Pamela was a Client Executive at Cisco for 12 years supporting a Fortune 50 Insurance firm globally. Pamela grew the business relevance for Cisco and expanded the portfolio presence of solutions to solve business issues for the Insurer, making the case to displace incumbents and expand the Cisco footprint.

Ms. Coler is a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) with the State of New Jersey and an alumna of the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program and the NYC Economic Development Corporation’s Offshore Wind Pathways Program. As chair of the Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast Scholarship Committee, she founded the Brownfields, Books, and Brew club, dedicated to exploring the lessons of the iconic environment sagas. As technical advisor to the Waterfront Alliance, she advocates for the elevation of brownfields in the Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines. She is currently designing a Brownfields Certificate Program with the New Jersey Institute of Technology and will teach a course on brownfields there in Spring 2024.

In 2004, Kye played a leading role in the strategic acquisition by Kforce, including leading the company valuation and negotiations, before transitioning to Kforce as VP and working into the Chief Operations Officer role of $1.6B organization.

Nicole was a Strategy & Operations Business Analyst at Deloitte Consulting and Finance Teacher at iXperience, an experiential education startup based in Cape Town, South Africa.

For the past two years, Nicole served as a volunteer Executive Director of Brighter Children, a global venture philanthropy that raised over $1 million to fund the education of over 2,500 children across three continents. She remains actively involved with Brighter Children through her role on the Board Nominations Committee. Nicole also recently joined How Women Invests’ Disruption Committee to focus on making venture investing and funding more accessible to women.

During the late 90’s to 2000, he led the efforts to establish BNY Mellon India Technology (iNautix). Prior to that worked as a consultantfor IBM in building their OS/360, CICS, and MQ.

Sally is a well-respected energy industry and workforce development professional within the state of NJ with a broad range of both Corporate and Higher Education Talent Management and Workforce Development experience. She is a recognized leader and passionate advocate for gender equity and women in STEM. 

From 2017-2019, Sally led the nationally recognized Douglass Project for Women in STEM as they implemented and expanded multiple gender equity initiatives at the undergraduate level in the Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Public Health, Pre-Med, and Scientific Research areas. 

Prior to her retirement from PSEG in 2016, she had over 35 years’ experience in a diverse range of operational, technical, and managerial positions for the company. As the Manager of Workforce Development, Sally was responsible for overseeing a cross section of talent acquisition pipeline initiatives for PSEG including the college relations and diversity outreach functions, which included the company’s recruitment initiatives for women, people of color, veterans and individuals with disabilities. During her tenure, she led the design and implementation of many award winning, best practice and industry recognized outreach and recruiting programs, as well as multiple internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion trainings and initiatives. 

In 2013, Sally was appointed by the governor to serve on the NJ State Employment and Training Commission (SETC), on which she still serves today, and was named the chair of the NJ State Energy Sector Partnership Council, SESP, where she oversaw the allocation of grant funding for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Training Programs. Sally was also appointed to serve on the NJ Council on Gender Parity in Labor and Education, of which she served as chair through 2019.    

She holds an AAS degree in Business Management from Middlesex County College, a BS in Management from Rutgers Business School, a Master of Arts in Leadership from Bellevue University, as well as her SPHR Certification.

Nexaida is a technically minded professional with a passion for helping others with their technical needs. Coming for an educational background, she fully transitioned to the IT field in 2014 where she escalated to a management position in a short period of time. The motto she lives by is “Always try the best you can to help others with a sense of urgency and keep smiling no matter what!”.

Prior to joining the World Bank, Hyea Won was working at Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) where she participated in the global Internet governance and cybersecurity policy dialogues in multilateral organizations. While at KISA, she was seconded to Ministry of Science and ICT to support Korea’s engagement in Internet governance discussion.

Hyea Won holds Master’s in International Economics and Bachelor’s in Economics and International Affairs. She is a photography enthusiast.

Dixiana M. Berrios is an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Metropolitan Commercial Bank where she oversees various operational, support and risk departments including Information Technology.  Before joining the Company, Dixiana served as Executive Vice President and Director of Bank Operations at Amalgamated Bank, as well as Senior Vice President, Director of Bank Operations at Sterling National Bank.  

Dixiana holds a B.A. from The University of Alabama and an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.  She holds additional executive certifications in Banking, Finance, Project Management and Payments. In her roles,

Julie also has experience providing cyber advisory services including cybersecurity assessments, risk mitigation strategies, breach response, and threat actor reports. Previously, Julie was a Chief Information Security Officer for a $640M community bank, developing a strong information security program working within the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) framework. Her most notable success is in directing operations of safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving both potential and actual security problems.

She is certified in Cybersecurity (CC), is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Ethical Hacker and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator v8.

Julie volunteers with Habitat for Humanity (currently in two locations) and Family Service Association as a board member. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Center for Cyber Defense Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she also serves as a student mentor in cybersecurity courses.

John is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Data Privacy Practitioner (CDPP), and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He is an active member of various professional groups including: Project Management Institute (PMI) and ISACA.

In 2021, her entrepreneurial spirit motivated Sejal to launch a second company called CloudWerxe designed to offer small to mid-sized MSPs a top-of-the-line, secure cloud environment. Sejal’s innovation earned her a Gold Stevie Award, 2023 NJBIZ Leaders in Digital Technology award, and recognition as an ROI Power List Influencer and NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business.

Prior to her entrepreneurial career, Sejal spent 12 years traveling the country working for leading financial firms and is currently on the Board of Entrepreneurs’ Organization and Connect 4 Business Exchange. Previously, Niki worked at Synchronoss Technologies as a Technical Business Analyst where she was first exposed to the inner workings of Product Management. In her spare time, Niki sits on the Life After NYU Committee at NYU where she helps plan and execute events to help transition graduating seniors to post-graduate alumni life. She’s helped create “Life After NYU” week where students and recent graduates can attend sessions that cover important graduation and early adult career information. Through this committee, she is able to keep the alums from the most recent graduating years involved in the NYU Community.

Anusha is also a Member of the Board of Trustees, for Support Organization for Kids in Need (SOFKIN), a nonprofit in New Jersey and Hyderabad, India that cares for destitute children and women, and has assisted in operations and fundraising for over a decade. Chaya combined her business acumen and passion for charity to found SOFKIN (Support Organization For Kids In Need – sofkin.org) , a non-profit organization that creates loving and caring homes for destitute and under privileged children. SOFKIN operates in The United States and in India and supports over 100 beautiful children. SOFKIN children are given medical attention, cared for, fed, educated, and sheltered within a nurturing environment. Chaya remotely manages the operations of the NGO on a daily basis and the children are treated no different than her own. SOFKIN has youth groups established In New Jersey, Philadelphia, and India, where the students from local high schools and colleges volunteer for the organization.

In addition to her work at SOFKIN, Chaya serves as a trustee on the board of MAHER (maherashram.org), a non-profit organization aimed at supporting destitute women and children, and Satyana Institute (satyana.org)supporting communities through gender reconciliation and inter spiritual training and workshops.

Her support of other women inspired Chaya to found the Global Women’s League, a networking organization that creates a platform to inspire, influence, and empower women with leadership skills through affiliations with successful leaders and like-minded organizations. She is a graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University and has completed all but the dissertation in political science/public policy at the CUNY Graduate Center. Ms. Hirsch also has taught political science and public policy courses at the City College of New York.

Mr. Doran is an accomplished development, hosting and managed services executive with deep experience in the telecommunications industry building products at scale for over 20 years. He possesses extensive architecture, software development, hosting and international management experience in large scale telecommunications and internet/intranet products. Prior to his current position, Mr. Doran served in various roles at Synchronoss, including VP of Development, Chief Architect and Senior Software Engineer. Before joining Synchronoss, Mr. Doran was a Senior Development Engineer at Agility Communications from 2000 to 2002 and a Member of Technical staff at AT&T/Lucent from 1996 to 2000.

Prior to joining Accenture, Shail was CEO of Knowledgent – a leading data and analytics company that Accenture acquired in December of 2018. Shail Jain is a serial entrepreneur and has helped build three technology services firms successfully over the last twenty-five years. Myra Kinds is the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Lead and Trainer with GERI. She is a licensed American Baptist Minister to Youth, and a recognized leader in underserved communities, specializing in addiction and recovery, mental health, and domestic violence. Myra collaborates with The Black Ministerial Alliance and The Institute for Global Youth Programs and is a certified instructor in Mental Health First Aid and Recovery Coaching.  Prior to entering the non-profit sector, Myra held executive-level positions responsible for hundreds of employees, as well as working in local government, where she led several initiatives for the City of Boston.

Pat is an investor, advisor and the author of Meet 100 People. Inspired by meeting thousands of people in an over thirty-year career, Pat wrote Meet 100 People to encourage us all to proactively, and consistently meet people in person or by video. Her goal is not only to inspire, but to provide practical steps to expanding your network. Pat speaks regularly at colleges, to alumni groups and to corporations. She gave a TedX Talk at Dartmouth College in 2018.

As the founder and CEO of The Path Ahead, Pat identifies high growth companies in which she invests and takes on either formal or informal advisory roles. Since 2016, Pat has invested in over a dozen innovative private companies, more than half led by women. She currently advises the CEOs of several growth companies. Pat is a former judge for EY’s Winning Women Program.

Prior to her current role, Pat spent 30 years with global growth investor, General Atlantic, most recently as managing director. She began her career as a consultant with Bain & Company. Pat is a graduate of Dartmouth College with a degree in computer science and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
